We survived the road trip.
The drive turned out to be more like 10 hours instead of the planned upon nine. We somehow forgot to pack the cables to make our portable DVD player work, and still the kids did great. Remember the days of looking out the window and seeing the scenery during road trips? Or, playing alphabet games? Or, spotting cars with different license plates? That was how we filled the hours. And, really the kids did super.
We made it to the desert! We made it to warm weather! We made it to swimming pools!
And, now we're home with swim suits and shorts tucked away for another two months.
It makes the forecast of snow showers tomorrow seem all the more miserable.
